Who doesn’t love a good ol’ snow cone on a hot summer day? Snow cones are and forever will be a summer staple, but now we have the pleasure of turning our childhood favorites into a boozy treat for the adults of the party! These blackberry lavender gin snow cones are the perfect slush to sip while the kids are playing when you are sitting by the pool or hanging with your girls! There is no reason why children are the only ones that get to enjoy a delicious snow cone on a hot day.

This recipe is near and dear to me because my grandma always served her famous gin slush when she entertained guests, and I wanted to carry on the tradition but adding my own botanical twist to it!

What Makes it Slushy?

This special gin treat is made of shaved, crunchy ice much like your traditional snow cone! The best part about this is that the ice doesn’t freeze together making it extremely fun and easy to eat. Trust me, you won’t want to put this one down!

Something to note is that gin doesn’t freeze well, so expect a nice and fluffy combination of gin and ice! The more gin you add to the recipe, the slushier the mixture will be. It’s all about preference, so whatever you want works. If you’re looking for gin popsicles, check this recipe!

How to Make the Lavender Syrup

The lavender syrup is super quick and easy to make! All you have to do is combine water, sugar, and the culinary lavender into a saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Once it is dissolved, remove the heat and let the mixture steep for about 20 minutes! Strain out the lavender buds, add lemon, and voila!

Lavender is known for its potent, earthy floral smell as well as it’s amazing calming effects. It has been proven to help with mood, anxiety, anger, and sleep patterns. Adding this to your gin slush will make it so you can truly relax and enjoy the beautiful summer day.

What is so Special About the Gin?

The specific gin I use in this recipe is Empress 1908, which is a 100% authentic and all-natural gin product. What makes this gin so special is that it is tinted with butterfly pea flower tea, which gives it a very vibrant blue color.

Make it Fancy!

Make yourself feel like you are on vacation at a luxury hotel by preparing a delicious, beautifully decorated cocktail for you and your guests! Put the gin slush into your favorite vintage glasses and have fun with it by adding some fun garnishes like a stick of lavender or some frozen blackberries!

This snow cone recipe makes the perfect summer drink, especially for when you want to change things up a bit! They are so good your guests are going to be asking you to make them throughout the entire year. If you make the recipe, tag me on Instagram so I can see all of your special creations!
